RESPONSE TO COVID-19:

The Wyandotte Health Foundation staff will be working from home until at least April 23, 2020 as a precaution, and will be conducting business by phone and email during this time. We are currently in touch with other health foundations and the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, KS to determine how we can best support our community at this time, and will post updates on any future actions as decisions are made. We encourage everyone to limit meetings with others to no more than 10 people, and to take all possible precautions by limiting face-to-face interactions as much as possible.

What We Fund

Childhood Trauma

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are stressful and/or traumatic events which include abuse, neglect, and household dysfunction. Research has shown a strong link between ACEs and a wide variety of health problems, including risk factors for disease, disability, and early mortality. The Wyandotte Health Foundation supports programs aimed at reducing the incidence of ACEs and trauma, and interventions to better assist families experiencing trauma to reduce the health impacts associated with ACEs/trauma.

Primary Health Care

The Wyandotte Health Foundation strengthens Kansas City’s safety-net clinics to provide high quality care to the community. WHF does this by providing core operating support to clinics that deliver affordable and accessible primary health care directly to the indigent, uninsured and underinsured of Wyandotte County.
