Primary Health Care
Funding for Primary Health Care strengthens Kansas City’s safety-net clinics to provide high quality care to the community. WHF does this by providing core operating support to clinics that deliver affordable and accessible primary health care directly to the indigent, uninsured and underinsured of Wyandotte County. Primary care is performed and/or managed by a personal physician often collaborating with other health professionals, and utilizing consultation or referral as appropriate. Primary care includes health promotion, disease prevention, health maintenance, counseling, patient education, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses in a variety of ambulatory health care settings.
Safety-net clinics must show that they are serving Wyandotte county residents with WHF grant funding. Typically grants are one-year grants.
